One of the most frequent questions I get, is what gear do I use. Here's a quick lowdown of what's in my backpack. CAMERAS
Nikon D850
Pre-ordered this bad boy. Can't wait to test it and see if it's as good as they claim it will be. The specs are looking amazing.
Nikon D810
My trusted go-to camera for the last years. I had a D800 prior to upgradind to the D810, and I haven't regretted it for even a split second. In addition to it's superior dynamic range and sheer optical quality, it's built like a tank and can withstand the beating it gets due to the harsh conditions I put it through in the high Arctic. For nighttime shooting, it never leaves my side. A true workhorse.
Fujifilm X-T2
The X-T2 was always meant to be my backup camera. It's small, mirrorless and the optics are razor sharp. For everyday stuff and behind the scenes it has definitely done the job. The AF is lightning fast and I love the fact that it's all manual, so it requires of the actual photographer. Wish the *.RAF files were compatible with Adobe products though.
LENSES FOR THE NIKON CAMERA
Nikon AF-S 14-24mm f/2.8 G ED
My trusted ultra wide-angle lens for the last three years I think. It's simply perfect.
Nikon AF-S 85mm f/1.4 G
For all things non-nature, this has been my best friend over the last years. The bokeh is unreal!
Sigma Art 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM (Nikon Mount)
I'm a big fan of the Sigma Art lenses, and this 35mm is an awesome "tool" to have in my camerabag.
LENSES FOR THE FUJIFILM CAMERA
Fujifilm XF 10-24mm f/4.0 R OIS
My wide-angle choice when shooting on the Fujifilm XF system. It's very lightweight, wish it was f/2.8 though!
Fujifilm XF 16-55mm f/2.8 R LM WR
The lens I use the most when shooting with the X-T2. Razor sharp images and completely weathersealed.
Fujifilm XF 55-200mm f/3.5-4.8 R LM OIS
I sold my Nikon 70-200mm for this purely for weight-issues. It does the job, even though I would still prefer to have the Nikon in my bag.
DRONE
DJI Phantom 4 Pro RTF
I'm a big fan of aerial photography and when DJI launched the Phantom 4 Pro I knew I needed it. At the time I was using the regular Phantom 4, and the difference in optical quality is remarkable.
DJI Mavic Pro Fly More Combo
It's amazing how small and compact the Mavic Pro drone is. Absolutely love it for when I need to think about what to pack/bring on trips, as it pretty much fits in my backpocket almost.
4x DJI Phantom 4 Intelligent Battery
Flying in cold and harsh Arctic climates requires a lot of battery life. I have four of these and should probably have four more just to certain I have enough juice. On a normal winter's day in Norway, I get about 11 minutes pr battery.
TRIPOD, BALLHEAD & L-BRACKET
Really Right Stuff TVC-34L Tripod
I probably went through 2-3 Manfrotto's a year prior to upgrading to this beast of a tripod. It can withstand the harshest winds, and the salty seaspray is not a match for it.
Really Right Stuff BH-55 LR PRO Ballhead
A beast of a tripod needs a beast of a ballhead, and that's exactly what this is. It's probably overkill for my needs, but damn it's fluidity is flawless - and it look's pretty sexy too!
Really Right Stuff BD810-L: Nikon D810 L-Plate
A few years ago, everyone kept telling me that I need to get an L-plate for my D810. I'm glad I listened to them, the stability and all around logistics is making my life 10x easier.
MEMORY SOLUTIONS
Lexar Pro 300x 64GB micro SD Card
My choice of weapon for all things related to drone photography. Use it for both stills and 4K/1080 video.
Lexar Pro 1066x 128GB CF Card
Loved having these as my backup card on my D800 and D810 cameras. However, the D850 is upgraded to the new XQD slot system.
Lexar Pro 2000x 128GB SD Card
Can never have enough of these SD cards. Super fast and never had any issues or faulty cards when importing.
Lexar Pro 2933x 128GB XQD Card
The XQD system is a fairly new experience for me. Got them specifically for the new Nikon D850 camera.
Zhiyun Crane 3-Axis Gimbal
For all video production, I use this system from Zhiyun Tech. It's 3-axis stabilizing are insanely good. Now I just need to learn some saucy camera-moves properly. I primarily use the Fujifilm X-T2 for videos with this gimbal.
Syrp Genie 3-Axis Kit
Syrp were so kind to send the Syrp Genie 3-axis kit a while back. I've played around with it but still not happy with the look of the timelapse. I need to practice a lot more before I publish any timelapses. Sorry for being so incredibly slow Syrp!
Polarpro ND filters for the DJI P4P
ND8, 16 and 32 filters for the DJI Phantom 4 drone. Such a great tool when you wanna do long exposure shots from the air, or video that requires a given shutte speed like 25fps/50ss and 30fps/60 ss etc. Their customer service is superb too!
Formatt-Hitech Firecrest ND Filters
When Formatt-Hitech released the highly anticipated Firecrest ND filters, I just knew I had to get in touch with them. By far the best ND's filters I've tried, completely color neutral and almost no vignetting whatsoever, not even on my ultra wide-angle lenses.
Dell XPS 15 9550 4K UHD Laptop
My crazy powerful laptop by Dell. I upgraded it to 1TB SSD harddrive and 32GB Ram. Editing on this laptop is a dream.
Desktop PC
While I don't know much about hardware, my brother does and has built my custom PC. I run a AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X, 64GB DDR4 RAM, GTX 1070, 1TB M.2 SSD drives and tons more, it's a beast!
